The Artwork: September Sunflowers
September Sunflowers is an observational watercolour study of sunflowers blooming in September. The flowers grew on my balcony and the image captures their life cycle: opening flowers, blooming, closing, and withering. The image was created over the period of 3 days painting outdoors; the flowers wilted by the completion of the painting. The original is on Fabriano watercolour paper, and the painting is 12″x18″ – created in 2016.
A print is a perfect alternative to buying the original artwork, especially in cases where the piece hangs in an environment less than ideal for original art, such as a garage, bathroom, or workshop or for temporary decoration. It’s also a great option to test-out an artwork in a space before purchasing the original. As an affordable choice, it replicates the artwork as accurately as possible. If cared for, a print lasts for over a hundred years. Set the mood for a room and create motivation in a work space with an art print. Trust me, it’s better than a blank wall!
The image is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, unframed, and shipped with a flat rate. The paper is thick, while the inks imitate the original artwork as accurately as possible while being light-fast.
